We get a lot of questions from parents about the development of children. Is this typical? When should they? What if they don’t? Should I be worried? There are so many opinions, theories and information about what is “normal” that it can be overwhelming to parents. Add in the concept of academic development and brains can overload. The Sandcastle teaching staff believe whole-heartedly that a solid social emotional foundation is the first step in achieving many other developmental milestones – including academic. Our primary goal is to teach our students how to feel confidence, problem solve, follow a routine and overcome challenges. The secondary goal is providing students academic opportunities so they are prepared to enter a regular school classroom.
