Barbara Bunch is the original founder and director of Sandcastle Preschool. She has had the pleasure of watching Sandcastle grow into the 5 Star QRIS rated program over the past 32 years. Barbara has degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education. Graduate studies have focused on early childhood education. She began teaching preschool in Corvallis in 1981 and founded Sandcastle Preschool in 1985. “It is still one of my greatest joys to listen to the chatter and laughter of our precious children as I walk down the hallway at Sandcastle.”
Jennifer Grube has a bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Science/Early Childhood Education from Oregon State University. She has been a teacher at Sandcastle since 1999. Jen also directs Outdoor School Programming for several local school districts. She has many joys in life but at the top of the list are helping students build positive early learning foundations and facilitating students’ connections to the natural world.
Sarah Holpuch has an associate degree from Linn Benton Community College in Early Childhood Education. Sarah has been a teacher at Sandcastle for the past 14 years.
Darcie Kirby has a degree in Education and has taught and supervised preschool children in a variety of settings for a number of years including preschool gymnastics, Head Start and MDO.
Misty Sorte has a masters in public affairs and has worked as a child and victims advocate for several years. Her interest in teaching and preschool children lead her to pursue coursework in early childhood education. She has taught preschool in a variety of settings.
Sammy Gabrelcik has a degree in Human Development and Family Science with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. She has worked as a nanny as well as a classroom assistant for several years. Sammy enjoys seeing students having fun while learning.
Mandy Barber has been a teacher at Sandcastle and has a degree in Education. She has many years of experience teaching and working with preschool children.
Haley Jones has a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked as a nanny and has experience working in preschool classrooms. Haley enjoys being outdoors and reading.
Morgan Fichter joined our staff after being a volunteer through LBCC Early Childhood Education program. She is an accomplished musician (fiddle and piano) and is a music teacher in the community.
